Annual Banquet - Our Watersheds: A Story of Restoration and Recovery

Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 - 6:00pm to Wednesday, June 20th, 2018 - 9:00pm

Join Alpine Anglers for an update and overview of recent watershed restoration efforts completed by the Estes Valley Watershed Coalition and the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition, in the years after the 2013 floods. The event will take place from 6-9PM at the American Legion located at 850 N St Vrain Ave in Estes Park, CO.

The event will begin with a social hour from 6-7PM with drinks available at the American Legion Bar. Take this time to enjoy the company of like-minded conservationists, community members, and fellow fisher-people.

At 7:00PM, the program will begin. Our two speakers for the evening are Lindsay McFarland of the Estes Valley Watershed Coalition (EVWC) and Tracy Wendt of the Big Thompson Watershed Coalition (BTWC). Both will speak about projects they have completed to help restore the watersheds and riparian ecosystems of the Estes Valley and Big Thompson Canyon. Recent projects include work along Fall River, Fish Creek, and the Big Thompson in Estes Park. IN addition to sharing recent successes, both coalitions look forward to speaking about future opportunities to become involved in restoration efforts!

If you want to get out before the event and see the projects on-the-ground, join Lindsay McFarland for a tour of project sites. Tour will include Cheley Camp Beaver Dams, Fish Creek, and Fall River restoration projects. The tour will take place from 3-5:30PM. Please contact Lindsay at Lindsay.McFarland@EVWatershed.org or (970)290-1829 to RSVP.

Throughout the event, there will be silent auction and raffle items ranging from local gift certificates to artwork to outdoor and fishing gear. A portion of proceeds from raffle tickets, silent auction items and event donations will directly support the EVWC and BTWC.
